Are we praying like a child of God?
Jesus says our Prayers should be in a certain manner.
- Our Praying is unto God our Heavenly Father.
- We are to be praying with an understanding that we are now the children of God.
- We are to pray with a perspective that we are in the Kingdom of God focusing on God’s “Will” at all times in all of our Praying
- Prayer is not about our agenda …it is about the rule, reign and development of the Kingdom of God within Us!
Matthew 6:7-8 (KJV) 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
We need to understand what Jesus is saying about prayer. We are not to pray in vain but we are to pray knowing that we have a heavenly Father who already knows what things you have need of, before you ask Him. So Jesus tells us how to pray.
Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
If we are truly a child of God, then our Father already knows what we need and cares about us. We should be seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then he says that all these things that the Father knows we have need of…will be added to us.
Matthew 6:32-33
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
1 John 3:1-2
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
We need to understand salvation is being born of God, experiencing the knowledge that God is our heavenly Father. Then we should be kingdom minded and focused on doing the “Will” of God. That He desires for us to pray for His Kingdom to come and His “Will” to be done. All the trials and tests we go through in life is because God is developing us to be formed to the image of His Son Jesus Christ, that we are to become spiritual sons and daughters in the Kingdom of God doing His ministry.
Blessings and love to Everyone!
